Research Strategy

The University of Peloponnese was, from its foundation, one of the Greek regional polyhedral universities, whose necessity was not exclusively related to educational objectives. It has made a substantial contribution to the economic development of the Peloponnese region and at the same time, it has contributed significantly to the strengthening of the cultural character of the wider Peloponnese region, as well as to the improvement of the standard of living and social standards. Its multidisciplinary dimension is evident, both in the education provided and in the research carried out. In addition, the international academic dimension of the presence of the University of Peloponnese and the long-standing commitment of its staff to the quality of educational services, has resulted in the creation of a particularly important footprint in the academic news of our country and the wider geographical area. In an intensely changing environment, PEL continues to aim for both educational and research excellence, while building on the challenges and imperatives of the future.

It is reorienting its research strategy based on innovation, entrepreneurship, technology, the new digital age, large-scale development as well as attracting funding.

The strategic objectives of the Department are linked to those of the Foundation.
The basic principles that summarize the mission and vision of the MSc “Public Administration and Local Government” are harmonized and integrated with the general principles and vision of the Department and the institution, and are illustrated as follows:
